Crimean tatars mostly just emigrated out of Crimea to the Ottoman Empire, Russian Empire didn't outright kill them. The Soviets did deport them though.

Putin turned Chechens into something like Gurkhas. They have a lot of authority, but everybody inside Russia hates them, so their only way to avoid ethnic oppression and genocide(not even from Russians, but from other Caucasians) is to completely obey the central government, which guarantees them a trouble-free existence. It also helped us influence Muslims abroad, many soldiers who served in Syria and communicated with Arabs were Chechens.

Oh, and it's also worth noting that they have a certain branch of Sufism rather than traditional Islam, which is a controversial thing in Islamic world.

I feel like this is blown out of proportion just like the whole Armenian thing. It is highly disputed in Russian sources just like the Armenian thing is highly disputed in Turkish sources. I can't provide a counter argument for now but I will do it later on.

Circassians lived on very good land, but all they did was attack traders, rob small villages and traded slaves, often of their own ethnicity. So the majority of them were kicked out and the remained became somewhat civilized.

I think it is worth giving an example of Kazakhs in a similar situation. Kazakhs were smarter and did not wait for their end, but simply asked for protection and became vassals of the Russian Empire. As a result, they now have the largest and most civilized state in Central Asia, and they are the only Central Asian country that has not turned into a nation of migrant workers living on small salaries from construction sites.
