Recently I've been reading about a phenomena that happens in melanesian countries, particularly Vanuatu. Basically its a bunch of strange religious movements where a so-called prophet arrives to announce the oncoming apocalypse or great change, and preaches the return to tradiional ways. Many of them worship strange things, like the late Prince Phillip who was Queen Elizabeth II's husband. I'm interested to see your thoughts on this topic.

Cargo cults inform most things in our society. Liberalism is a cargo cult. Public education is a cargo cult.
