tf2 is genuinely a burden for valve and it's like 17 years old. it has no right to be supported and it should have died years ago.
the heartbreaking but inevitable future of tf2 is no different to the fate of counter strike 1.6 and counter strike source, abandonment and community servers filled with bots who pretend to be humans. which is funny considering that css is 20 years old and abandoned, but tf2 kept on living for some reason. valve genuinely should just drop support for the game and move everyone over to their new projects. the fact that tf2 survived for 17 years is fascinating but ultimately, it will have to rest someday, or else we'll go back to quick play and shitty community servers which are full with shitty bots and servers like fastpath on css which create multiple bogus entries in the community browser designed to trick players into joining, only to be full with bots who pretend to be humans.
one day, in 2045 perhaps, people are going to forget that tf2 even exists, it will be seen as this weird dead videogame that people used to play and now no longer play. newbies will join, see the lack of players or the excessive amounts of bots and just go play fortnite instead. i think gen alpha is filtered from tf2 unless it is ingrained into their culture via skibidi toilet or equivalent, then we get a new playerbase of f2p kiddies and the lobbies will be full of squeakers again.
i kind of like tf2 how it is right now, the bots aren't that much of a pain and european servers are very chill, almost like everyone in europe is just based for no reason. i have met so many shartians / sharty adjacent people from tf2 european servers, people with ACK! objector signs and your usual racist russians, so despite the bots the atmosphere is pretty comfy. i've heard american servers are just full with trannies though, which is probably why some americans play euro lobbies.
if i were valve i'd be pissed off right now that there are these good for nothing fucks who think they know better than us ranting and raving about a 17 year old game we don't want to support anymore who wont let us make our new projects because "eww i dont like it what about tf2 tf2 tf2" literally shut the fuck up, we dont care.

i just realized exactly what sgoing to happen and what #FixTF2 is going to accomplish
it'll be a summer update part 2, the bots will get like a minor patch or something that stops them for like a week, they'll release a new fucking loot crate for everyone to unbox, get a shit ton of money for it and then everything goes back to normal, the bots get no more fixes and things are fucking broken again.
they'll probably just do that OR lie about fixing the bots, grab a bunch of shit from the workshop and add 500 new maps this time and add like 10,000 new candy cane cosmetics so people have to buy them.

This but unironically, I'd like for Heavy to be some sort of neutral party in the Skibidi war just to mindbreak the 50 Redditors who still cling on to this shit game (mainly because they got laughed out of CS but can't play Valorant either because they're not Boba Americans who watch OfflineTV and make safe-edgy jokes while cucking to the one female in their group)
I enjoy TF2 but whenever I want to play the bots wanna play too, I only like 5CP and KOTH so I queue up for my usual maps and its just unplayable; hope and pray that valve does anything but they just don't, there's a reason why I mostly play fortnite these days instead.
