If you define winning under those terms... Yes, they won for now.

However, that does not mean that is a good outcome for the world. Religion and superstition is one of the great failures of humans. Generation Z will change this.

Evil (religion) does win sometimes... only when good men do nothing will evil thrive.

Religious people have invented and discovered many things. Moreso than atheists have.

What exactly is evil to you and where does this notion of evil come from?

1. For many centuries one could not be an atheist without facing punishment.

2. This is silly. Just because someone invented something and happened to be religious we must credit this to religion? Should we give mention to the many wars and killings done in the name of religion?

Let us try this:
If murderers invented many great things would we give credit to murderers? What a silly comment you made.

Evil would be in my opinion something which causes great human suffering. Of course, all morality is subjective. I'm not quite sure why you would take your morality from a bible which centers around genocidal and jealous God who forced his own son to die for "our sins." But hey, you do you.

Also...

The condoning of slavery, abuse of women and children, the very concept that any human could deserve being sent to eternal torture.

I am assuming you are a follower of Christ here. Am I correct in my assumption?

You had over 250,000 years before the emergence of religions to be atheist and invent stuff.

Religion played an important part into the lives of the inventor. It even motivated their drive into inventing and discovering like Galileo Galilei and Sir Isaac Newton

The same can be said for Atheism. I'm fact, many massacres and deaths have occured by atheist states such as the USSR or the CCP.

I should ask you this before I respond... If something isn't true, do you believe we as humans should force ourselves to believe in it?

Remember... This same line of thinking could be applied to the regime which wishes to allow children to be chemically castrated because it might make them "feel better"

Yeah, people do that. The Nazis created rockets and discovered that smoking tobacco products lead to cancer.

My friend, many of the massacres you mention were not done in the name of atheism... I can name many atrocities which were clearly done in the name of "God" or religion. Even if I were to engage in your sophomoric little game, you would still lose. Religion has objectively caused more deaths than atheism ever has.

Where do you get your morality from?smugjak

You wouldn't be grateful for someone else taking the blame for your mistakes?

From myself? Again, I would have to assume you do not fully get your morality from the bible... as if you did you would most likely be incarcerated, or exiled from society..

How would we know if that something is true or not?

I would not be grateful for my father forcing me to be killed and tortured to save his own creation, no.

Isn't God supposed to be omnipresent and omnipotent? Couldn't he just have made the humans not be "sinful"

I must tell you, he does not sound like a very nice guy.
