I see alot of christian communists nowadays, I might stop being an atheist join them soon as i like christianity and catholicism. It's a chill religion.

Marx said that religion was the opuim of the people, but that isnt a bad thing. I believe Marx was saying much to how people used opium for comfort was how religion was to people. It allowed them to endure their terrible conditions in hopes they can plane where they are happy and free. As he also called it the "sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, the soul of soulless conditions."

I still have to disagree with him, as I see my religion as much more than just "comfort". It's a source of ultimate power, wisdom, and morality, and so that's also why I don't really align with any political ideology.

Continuing, I don't see a personal point in attaching myself to a particular political thought when I can dedicate myself to the thoughts of our Lord and His church (henceforth, also the saints' words) and get far more from them.

Going back to Marx's point, then, I don't see my religion as something I can go to just for comfort, as if it's a puppy below me, to pet and hug whenever I want. I see it as my guide in life entirely, and so I don't just go to it when times are tough.

I know I've already typed a lot, but to end, that idea of it being like "opium" reminds me of a quotation from Saint Theophan the Recluse. He says,
>Most of all be attentive to yourself: preserve a sober mind and an untroubled heart.
