    @X Immigrant if you want my personal opinion on pan-slavism, I would say that I approve of it but I also think it's unrealistic at the moment. For the Russian idea of it to become reality, all slavs must be Orthodox, and unfortunately many slavs are Catholic. Whether you are racist or not, we are one on the fact that religion comes above race. (1)

    (2) When it comes to how it should work, it would be the same as how patriotism worked in Medieval Serbia, at that time there developed an idea that being Serbian was the same as being Orthodox, and if a man was not Orthodox, he would not be counted as Serb. People in the Balkans used to call such people "Turks" when they converted to Islam. Because converting to Islam meant accepting Turkification.

    (3) And the opposite also worked, a Turk who converted to Orthodoxy and was baptized in a Serbian Church could be seen as a Serb too for example. Patriotism in this case was not based on ancestry but on Orthodoxy. The Serbs were united through being Orthodox, I'd want this potential idea of pan-slavism to work in a similar manner.
