If you love tinkering nonstop and not getting anything done, Linux is for you. If you like having abysmal support and or constantly use wine for everything, it's also for you. If you don't care about politics, it's not for you. If you want Linux to improve and be up to date with modern standards, get the fuck out already

I've had problems with X11. Reliable is literally far from true. You update your system and suddenly it refuses to launch X11. It's simply not worth troubleshooting. The only problems I had with Wayland is Hyprland and that's because it's shitty and fucks up easily

are you sure that's x11 and not your window manager or desktop environment i think

No matter what window manager I tried, it refused to launch. The problem was with X11. I tried reinstalling it but I'm pretty sure some settings are corrupted and couldn't figure out what. I just moved on to Wayland and KDE Plasma instead of bothering with snca window managers

Wayland seemed much more reliable at least for me. I don't like how they heckin leak about features because "ERM I DONT THINK THIS IS NECESSARY/I DONT LIKE THIS"

A problem with Wayland is that it's devs i think tend to be more leftist and bad then x11 devs wayland can be buggier and maybe break more then x11 also nvidia and maybe other companies don't want and or are too lazy to make drivers for wayland i think

Linux is only viable for IT work. For everyone else they'd have to dualboot or use wine for 90% of their workflow and at that point why would they jump through the hoops? I don't get why people feel so superior for using it, it's like r/atheism of operating systems.

doe honestly, I don't think most people would need to dual boot it with windows nowadays in most cases unless you're an editor, a musician (and you need fl studio o algo), or need one of windows apps something

Last I looked there was no decent CAD software. 2d you could get by with DraftSight somewhat, but it's inferior to AutoCAD or the chink knockoff ZWCAD(for which lifetime license costs less than 2 years of DraftSight). As soon as you need 3d and or BIM there is nothing on linux that doesn't run like shit.
