Holocan Creature Feature: The Whowie

One of the most notable examples of Island Gigantism in Australis is the Megalania, nicknamed the/a Whowie by the average Holocan, it’s one of the largest creatures living on our island. We believe that it’s a larger counterpart to another species that also lives somewhere around Australis, but we rarely see it due to the smaller creature living rather secluded lives. The Megalania is extremely aggressive, and its believed that it has a potent venom like its smaller counterpart. Megalanias are not dangerous as you might think, and most Holocans believe they are because of folklore in their 5-10 person village believing that Megalania’s are much, much bigger than they actually are.

If you encounter one, if you can run away from it as fast as you can, despite being faster than you. It will see you as a chore to get and hunt. Megalanias usually only hunt animals the same size as them, as they’re usually faster than them. Efforts are currently being made by Holocan officials to ensure that the Megalania is either completely extinct, or critically endangered to the point where only 3-10 exist in the wild. They are far too dangerous to thrive in Australis.

The elders have decided it's a nice idea to divide the village into 3 large groups, one dedicated to hunting, gathering and resource management; another dedicates for security and the fighting and shit, and lastly the other group dedicates itself to processing resources and to pass down knowledge and discoveries

It was decided after the elders got into a fist fight to determine what is going to be done with tin, for the moment half of it is being stored near the communal furnace (located between both rivers) the other half is being turned into vases to hold water
