Again they have very different needs and someone who wants one or another should know how to take care of one before getting one as a pet.
Rabbit's are prey animals and are naturally harder to bond with for this very reason, but it is still possible with time. They just don't trust you instantly.
But yes a cat would be a better option especially to someone who's never owned a pet before because rabbits have very specific needs.
