George Orwell ought to be seeing this shit. We need to revive him.
I can't help but imagine that a lot of these people of generations past would unanimously have pessimistic perspectives and conceptual outcomes if they were shown what the world looks like in it's current state. Imagine throwing somebody who was in a lush forest a century into the future in that same location after everything was burnt to the ground, what could they possibly offer after all of it's already been fucked.

>What? what do you mean map wasn't just a slang abbreviation for pedophile? you're for real for real telling me that those newspapers with those squiggly lines actually pointed you in different directions like a compass? no I don't know what time it is. hol up- lemme use my phone real quick. why would I need a watch when I got a phone frfr

I hate this thought process so much, unreal. Even when I was a kid I thought watches were always better compared to something like a phone, because the moment you take the phone out of your pocket you immediately relapse into wanting to check other shit like notifications on social media. Meanwhile a watch is just a watch. I do NOT need a fucking device that does everything for me. It is too dangerous.

This effect is doubled for spergs like me. Really the only reason I'm forced to walk around with a phone is due to the fact that I kind of need to be connected to my grandparents at all times. If I could go out on the street with a flip phone and a simple analog watch I would.

Watches are just cool to me. I like wearing mine, it's the only acceptable form of jewelry for guys except maybe wedding rings.

I got a lot of watches at home. Best side effect of living with old ass people is getting to use genuinely good old technology that nobody else knows about.

I have one of my dad's watches but I never use it.

We really don't need one tiny super computer doing everything for us at all times, especially in the case of an intense solar flare eradicating such technology in less than a milisecond.

Remember when everybody forgot about the 2025 solar flare? When New Year comes, I will be talking about it as if I'm spreading the Gospel.

Sometimes I genuinely want this to happen, but I'm so accustomed to modern technology that if this actually happened in real life, I would probably end up killing somebody out of frustration. It's a damn shame really. Maybe not for Africans since most of the countries there haven't even adopted 4G yet.
